Have you all seen those string lights with the large woven cotton balls that fit over the lights? Around Christmas I turned a strand of them into glittery holly in all shades of red and pink. Now with Easter approaching, I thought it would be fun to turn a strand into cute little bunnies with flower crowns. However, this DIY flower crown bunny string light garland is perfect for more than just Easter. I think it would be super cute in a nursery or playroom all year long.
Just look at those adorable bunnies with little felt flowers. And it lights up to make the most beautiful glow!
Materials to make your own DIY Flower Crown Bunny String Light Garland:
- BrightLab Lights garland in white
- Colorful felt sheets in your choice of colors plus white and pink for the ears
- Pink pom pom noses
- Hot glue
- This felt flower template
Begin by cutting out the felt flower pieces. If you have a laser cutter to vinyl cutting machine like the Cricut Maker, it makes this process super simple! But you can also hand cut these mini felt flower pieces using the template above too.
Once you have cut the pieces, assemble them by gluing the smaller flower petal pieces onto the larger ones and then gluing on a small circle in the center. Once complete, cut white felt into bunny ear shapes and pink felt into the center portion of the bunny ear.
Now hot glue on the pom pom nose to the center of the ball that comes with the string lights. Then glue on the felt ears and felt flowers around the hole at the top of the ball where the light bulb goes.
Once you have all the bunny heads made, poke the string lights into the hole at the top and hang up where ever you need a little hippity hoppity decor!
