One of my favorite online craft retailers, Consumer Crafts, just launched these paint your own giant wood board games. I was able to grab the giant stacking block game and the giant connect four game before they sold out. But I am sure they will be getting more in considering how fast they sold! So continue to keep an eye out for them. They are a fun activity for indoor and outdoor play. And with the weather warming up, I thought I would finally give my DIY giant connect four game a fun summer look.
Materials to make your own DIY Giant Connect Four Game:
- Wood Connect Four Game
- Acrylic craft paint
- Washi tape or thin painters tape
- Paint brushes
I knew that I wanted to stripes on my connect four game, so I taped off the board game with the washi tape to create my 6 color sections, then simply painted each section with a different color of paint. Once dry, the game was ready. I think I might spray paint one set of the chips gold later when I can get some spray paint, but for now, I love the simple stripes of color mixed with the light and dark wood.
I plan to have this as an outdoor yard game on our picnic tables that we can do when enjoying time outdoors. Next, I think I will paint the giant jenga game. I just have to decide between a rainbow ombre pattern or a fun abstract pattern. What do you think?
